Everything you need to prepare media, monitor storage, and link files to matches.

Managing Media in the Library

Organize, filter, and retain match footage so the right people always find the right file.

Managing Media in the Library

The Library is more than a storage bucket—it’s a searchable system of record for every match, training clip, and reel. Consistent naming and metadata let you build season-long archives that staff can trust, while retention controls keep storage limits in check.

Organize with Metadata

  • Use Labels (e.g., “League,” “Friendly,” “Tournament”) so you can filter long lists in seconds.
  • Attach Squad and Competition fields; they power downstream analytics filters and report templates.
  • Tag clips with Perspective (Wide, Tactical, Broadcast) to help analysts pick the best angle when creating highlights.

Filters & Views

  • Quick filters at the top let you jump to In Progress, Recently Uploaded, or Needs Tagging items.
  • Save a custom view (e.g., “U15 Away Matches”) and share it with other coaches for consistent context.
  • Toggle between grid and list modes when comparing thumbnails or bulk editing metadata.
  • Admins and editors can share available match videos with guardians from the Library when the footage should be visible to families.

Sharing with Guardians

  • Share only footage that guardians should be able to watch from their team workspace. Match videos are private until an admin or editor shares them.
  • Guardian sharing is read-only. Parents can watch shared media, but they cannot upload, download, annotate, analyze, tag, delete, group, or re-share team media.
  • Parent Library tabs are split into Match Videos, Highlights, and All Media. Each tab shows only media explicitly shared with that guardian's active team account.
  • Sharing with guardians is different from generating a public highlight link. Parents must be signed in to see authenticated shared media.

Upload Monitoring

  • New uploads appear in the Library immediately with live progress, including percent complete and uploaded bytes versus total bytes.
  • If an upload completes successfully, the row moves from Uploading to Processing automatically while media preparation finishes.
  • If the browser refreshes during an upload, the Library restores the last backend-tracked progress so you can see what finished and what still needs attention.
  • Retry actions appear only for recoverable upload interruptions. Terminal failures stay flagged until you upload the file again.

Storage Health

  • The header shows used vs. total GB. Click Manage Storage to archive or delete high-bitrate originals.
  • Set retention policies inside Settings → Storage so older practice footage auto-expires after a defined period.
  • Download original files before deletion if you want an offline backup.

Treat the Library like your digital kit room: label everything, keep it tidy, and teammates will always find what they need.
