Set Up the Field for Pitch-Aware Analysis
Calibrate the field, confirm team direction, and rerun pitch-aware analysis when a video needs field setup.
Set Up the Field for Pitch-Aware Analysis
Pitch-aware events, such as attacking-zone analysis, need to know where the field is in the video and which way your team is attacking in each period. The media Overview page shows a high-level status; the Analytics tab contains the setup workflow.
What the Prompts Mean
- Set up field: no usable field geometry is saved for this video.
- Confirm team direction: field geometry exists, but this analysis session still needs period timing and attacking direction.
- Review field setup: a saved setup exists but needs adjustment before it can be used for pitch-aware events.
- Ready: field geometry and session direction context are available.
View-only users can see these prompts. Admins and editors can change setup.
Choose a Frame
Open the media Analytics tab and select the field setup prompt. The system prepares recommended frames plus alternate or fallback frames. Choose the frame that shows the clearest field lines. If no full-field view exists, use the template selector to switch to a half-field or penalty-area view that matches what is visible.
Place Field Points
Select the field profile, either 7v7 or 9v9, then place the required points shown by the guided panel. Optional points can improve the setup when they are visible:
- center-line sideline intersections
- center spot
- penalty-box outer corners
Use the alignment preview as guidance while placing points. The final quality check happens when you save.
Confirm Period Direction
Choose the goal your team attacked first. For full-match video, confirm the second-half switch marker. For one-half clips, mark the video as one half only.
The media can keep reusable period timing defaults, but each AI analysis session stores its own authoritative snapshot. Changing media defaults later does not silently rewrite old analysis results.
Save and Rerun
After saving, the Analytics tab shows whether pitch-aware analysis is ready. Use Run Attacking-Zone Analysis when shown so the saved setup is used by a new or rerun AI analysis.
If setup cannot be saved, keep the draft open, adjust the points or period timing, and try again.
