Understanding Workspaces & Roles

Diagram showing workspace role relationships

Soccer-Insights keeps every organization segmented into workspaces. A workspace can represent a club, a specific academy program, or an individual coach’s sandbox. Within each workspace, permissions are determined by the role assigned to each member: Coach, Analyst, Player, Guardian, or Admin. Knowing who can see what helps you share confidently during beta.

Workspace Basics

  • Personal Workspace: Created automatically for every user. Ideal for testing uploads or drafting reports before sharing.
  • Team Workspace: Shared environment for coaching staffs. All analytics, uploads, and reports created here are visible to members based on their role.
  • Guest Views: Guardians and players join as guests. They only see the matches, clips, or reports that have been explicitly shared with them.

Role Capabilities

  • Admin: Manages billing, roles, and Workspace defaults. Admins can invite or remove members and change notification policies.
  • Coach/Analyst: Full upload, tagging, and reporting access. Coaches can promote sessions, publish reports, and use AI tools.
  • Player/Guardian: View-only access to shared sessions, clips, and notes. They can leave comments but cannot alter data.

Governance Best Practices

  1. Keep production uploads inside the primary club workspace so staff history remains centralized.
  2. Use the Workspace Switcher (top right) to confirm you’re acting in the right context before uploading or editing.
  3. Assign at least two Admins per workspace for redundancy.
  4. Revisit Settings → Team Management monthly to prune inactive accounts.
